About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Deputy Manager – Project Management to support and drive project execution for a large-scale greenfield steel plant project in Odisha. The role will involve end-to-end coordination of project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks. The selected candidate will work closely with senior leadership, contractors, consultants, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring of project activities across multiple functions.
Support in preparing and tracking project scope, cost, schedule, and quality deliverables.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Monitor compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements during project execution.
Contribute to tender preparation, bid evaluation, vendor management, and contract administration.
Ensure proper documentation, project reporting, and use of project management tools (Primavera, SAP, MS Project, or equivalent).
Support risk identification and mitigation strategies for smooth project execution.
Collaborate with plant operations teams (BOF, EAF, SMS, Blast Furnace, Rolling Mills, etc.) to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Assist in training, performance monitoring, and motivation of team members under the project function.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil) from a recognized institution.
5–10 years of project management experience in steel industry or heavy engineering projects.
Strong exposure to steel plant operations and processes (BOF, EAF, SMS, Sinter Plant, Blast Furnace, Rolling Mills).
Hands-on experience in project management tools such as SAP, Primavera, or MS Project.
Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Knowledge of safety and quality management systems in industrial projects.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP or equivalent project management certification (good to have).
Experience in greenfield or brownfield steel plant projects.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
