GM Marketing- Automotive Industry
Objective of Job:
The GM - Marketing is primarily responsible for:
- Developing marketing strategy for the dealership group - based on Mercedes-Benz corporate directives and in alignment with dealership business objectives
- Driving individual dealerships as per final marketing directions and sales objectives assigned to each one of them.
- Lead the dealership marketing team to deliver results as per the plan.
- Integrate with dealership CRM team to work on joint campaigns and for lead management system.
- Monitoring and controlling marketing execution at all dealership locations.
- Managing and effectively utilizing the dealership groups marketing budget.
He is also responsible to liaison with the Marketing team of Mercedes-Benz India for implementing various marketing programs at dealership & give feedback on a reglular basis.
Qualification:
o Basics: MBA / PGDBM
o Experience (type of): Minimum 10-12 years experience in marketing / advertising / events ( preferably with auto / consumer durable / FMCG sector / hospitality).
o Specialized Knowledge: Clear thinking capabilities and strategic approach, Ability to align activities towards goals and Sales targets, Communication skills, Customer oriented attitude, Ability to coordinate with external agencies, team player, ability to handle customer queries/complaints, analytical skills, Event management skills, knowledge of digital marketing activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Operating Head / Dealer Principle & Sales team
- Understand the sales objectives of the dealership group and communicate the marketing needs accordingly.
- Plan marketing strategy for each dealership based on the needs of market + organization.
- Keep the dealership abreast of competitor marketing activities
- Plan the marketing calendar including budgeting as per MBIL guidelines and directives.
- Timely feedback on the execution of marketing activities
- Be a one point of contact between the dealership and MBIL regarding all aspects of marketing
MBIL Marketing Team
- Regular communication with MBIL marketing team for all aspects of marketing and CRM activities at dealership level.
- Sharing of annual, quarterly and monthly marketing plans as per the formats and timelines communicated by MBIL.
- Discuss and obtain approvals on marketing plans prior to execution.
- Approvals on the ideas/ creatives. Adherence to MBIL CI guidelines.
- Regular feedbacks on the dealership and competitor activities.
- Quarterly marketing reports/claims including planned actual expenditure post activity evaluations.
- Sharing of information and ideas to promote Mercedes Benz products.
Other agencies:
- Co ordination with corporate communication team MBIL for any media related activities, press conferences, product launches etc.
- Communication with various publications, event agencies and other organizations for marketing opportunities.
Profile Expectations
- Has to have extensive knowledge of retail marketing.
- To have adequate experience and knowledge in the field of marketing/events/advertising for minimum 10 years. Out of this, minimum 5 years is mandatory with automobile / consumer durable / FMCG).
- Should have a fair understanding of digital marketing activities for lead generation programs.
- Has to have a passion to promote the brand and flare for marketing.
- Has to have a creative bent of mind, open to new ideas, high level of motivation and commitment towards the brand
- To be responsible for all aspects of dealership marketing activities.

Task Description
Main Tasks
1.Planning of marketing strategy and calendar
- Detailed planning of annual marketing calendar for the dealership group which should include ATL and BTL activities for dealership to meet business objectives. Should be done in coordination with marketing communications team of MBIL.
- Inputs from sales team + market for the planning the enquiry target and test drive plan.
- Planning of all lead generation activities and further close follow up with HOD CRM for enquiry registration in the system.
- Optimum use of the available resources to be made.
- Planning to focus upon the minutest details of the market product competitor activities.
- Management and updation of dealership website and making effective use of website for information to customers and enquiry capturing.
- Management and usage of dealership social media platforms as per MBIL directives.
