Job Title Self-Employed Accountant / GST Consultant
About the Role This role is designed for a self-employed accounting professional providing freelance accounting, tax, and compliance services to small businesses, startups, and individuals. Based in Mumbai or Pune, Maharashtra, the candidate will manage payables and receivables functions across various industries. The position requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, statutory filing timelines, and proficiency in accounting software, with a focus on delivering services within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities Accounting & Compliance - Maintain accurate accounts for multiple clients across industries - Prepare and file GST, TDS, and Income Tax returns within statutory deadlines - Provide advisory services on accounting practices and regulatory compliance Payroll & Client Management - Manage payroll processing for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) - Build and maintain a growing client base through effective networking and service delivery Software & Reporting - Utilize accounting software such as Tally and Zoho Books for bookkeeping and reporting - Ensure timely completion of accounting tasks in line with client requirements and SLAs
Key Skills & Qualifications - Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and taxation laws - Proficiency in accounting software including Tally and Zoho Books - Familiarity with GST, TDS, and Income Tax filing processes - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients independently - Entrepreneurial mindset with good networking and client relationship skills - 0 to 1 year of relevant experience in accounting or taxation
